The Passport is an official document issued by the Government of Bahrain, it verifies the identity and nationality of an individual for international travel.

ePassport
The Kingdom of Bahrain launched the ePassport, which includes features that are aimed to enhance and facilitate the citizens travel experience, and their transit through airports.
The ePassport utilizes advanced technologies and modern security features, which will contribute to enhancing the level of security, and will raise the classification of the Bahraini passport globally due to its high quality, enhanced features, and specifications that adhere to accuracy, modernity, and comprehensiveness of international standards. In addition, the ePassport was artistically designed to reflect the history of the Bahraini civilization, from its ancient past to its prosperous present.
Passport Issuance and Renewal
To facilitate and ease the process of issuing and renewing the passport, Bahraini citizens can benefit from the Passport eServices through the National portal which enables Passport Issuance Request for newborns, as well as request to renew their current passport through the Passport Renewal service, while making sure to upload a personal picture that adheres to the requirements. Enquiry about the status of the submitted requests is also available through the smae service.
Replacement of expired passports for citizens abroad
Bahraini citizens who wish to replace their expired passports and are currently abroad can visit the Kingdom's embassies and consulates to submit their requests. Applicants must attend in-person or have a legal representative present to perform the service at any embassy or consulate. In case there is no diplomatic mission in the applicants’ countries of residence, they must get in touch with the Kingdom’s nearest mission to the country of residence.
