Health Facilities and Establishments


The National Health Regulatory Authority makes procedures easy for healthcare establishments in the Kingdom. It receives applications requesting to open establishments, registers them for licensing and operations, and amends the activities of existing ones. It also carries out inspection visits oversee to ensure that all safety requirements have been met before approving opening of new facilities or renewing licenses.

The Health Facilities Directorate is in charge of functions in relation to the execution of Law No. No. (21) of 2015 regarding private healthcare facilities and the following tasks:

    Article (19): It is NHRA’s responsibility to evaluate the health services provided by all facilities to ensure quality and high performance, as well as compliance with regulations and standards related to patient safety, infection control, and other technical standards.
  • Article (20): It is NHRA’s responsibility to conduct inspections to ensure that private health facilities adhere to laws and regulations.
