Government and Social Support

Everyone in the Kingdom of Bahrain has the right to live a safe and dignified life. The themes of ‘Inclusiveness’ and ‘Leaving No One Behind’ are incorporated into all aspects of government service delivery. The country pays special attention to various segments of society to ensure they all live peaceful and fulfilling lives. 

‘Social solidarity’ is a well-known tradition in Bahraini society, and the main input towards the achievement of Goal 1 of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is "eradicating hunger and poverty". The Kingdom’s constitution guarantees social security for Bahraini citizens to ensure a decent standard of living, housing, employment, and social welfare. These aspects are pillars of the Government Action Plan and the National Development Strategy, which are overseen by the Cabinet.
