Supporting & Empowering our Youth
Our younger generation is our backbone. Youth have a prospected role to renew and refresh the current status of our society including leadership, innovations, skills etc. We have high hop in them to advance the current technology, education, politics. Hence, the Kingdom of Bahrain takes great responsibility in nurturing and providing multiple and various opportunities to its youngsters in order for them to develop, and as they grow, will contribute to the development and achievements of the Kingdom.
It has always been the main pursuit of our government to reinforcing the principle of serving the Bahraini youth in various forums for being one of the main pillars within the Bahrain Vision 2030 through various initiatives.
King Hamad Award Youth Empowerment Award to Achieve the SDGs
This global award comes as an expression of the firm faith of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, in young people’s potential to lead their countries and the world towards a better shared future of peace and prosperity for all people on a healthy and renewable planet, as envisioned by the world’s most ambitious plan to transform our world – The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
The award recognizes young people’s endeavour to be effective and productive citizens, contributing to the welfare of their communities and environment, as well as institutions that improve the enabling environment and infrastructure for youth to make an impact, in all United Nations Member States. The Award includes two main categories; one for youth action, granting, and a second for youth enablers.
At the national level, the kingdom prioritizes pioneering initiatives that help youth enhance their capabilities—through training, skill-building, and experience-exchange, expand their opportunities to choose a future that they desire and contribute to the welfare of their community.
The Kingdom of Bahrain offers a set of initiatives in the field of youth empowerment and skills development stemming from the Kingdom’s great faith in youths as the engine of developmental processes and the purpose of development. There is continuous investment in young people as they are the world’s best chance to delivering on vision of Agenda 2030 and fulfilling the promise of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to leave no one behind, in a world that is more equitable and freer of want.
The Hope Fund
The Kingdom of Bahrain is keen on supporting youth-based projects and initiatives by providing multiple programs and approaches to assist them in thriving and achieving their goals. As one of these initiatives, the Hope Fund was established by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa through Decree No. (64) of 2020 (Arabic) to support youth projects and initiatives.
The Hope Fund aims to empower and guide local businesses to launch, take their first steps, grow, and expand. The fund also monitors the skills and competencies of young Bahrainis to support their ideas and aptitudes, discover, refine and highlight youth talents and enable them to achieve success and continuity in a way that will positively reflect on the Kingdom's action in activating their role, enhancing their contribution to development, easing their entry into the business world with confidence and ability, and achieving stability while fostering a nationwide entrepreneurial mindset and outlook in Bahrain.
The Hope Fund is segregated into multiple initiatives, including:
Hope Talents: Hope Talents is the talent arm of Hope Fund. It is a talent management organisation supported by a national initiative to support high-achieving talents. Their goal is to match the right talent with the right job opportunity within the right organisation, at a fraction of the time and cost.
Hope Ventures: Hope Ventures is the investment arm of Hope Fund. It was founded to co-invest in high-potential, scalable, Bahraini-founded businesses to strategically accelerate their growth.
Beban: “Beban” is a reality TV show in which entrepreneurs pitch to investors for immediate investment offers and strategic business opportunities.

Youth Summit
With the growing number of the youth in Bahrain, it has become imperative for the Kingdom to implement policies to further engage them in making vital decisions and enable young people to give out even more towards the Kingdom in terms of development and prosperity. The summit aims to provide young people with a number of innovative and practical solutions to overcome challenges facing different sectors and boost the youth’s contribution in decision-making.
Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Youth Summit, was organized virtually by the Ministry of Youth & Sports Affairs, with the participation of a number of ministers and Bahraini youth.
AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation
AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF) is a non-profit foundation registered and licensed by the Ministry of Social Development. It aims to make a social impact in the education field and to empower Bahraini youth to reach their optimum potential. By providing Bahraini youth with knowledge, skills and character development programs, they will be able to develop themselves and their Kingdom further.
Through aligning the foundation’s vision with the Bahrain 2030 vision, MKF aims to enrich Bahrain’s education sector through specialized programs that target the young people of Bahrain with the skills and expertise required by the labor market. The aim is to establish good social responsibilities to take on charitable projects and initiatives; benefiting and elevating the community as a whole.
eShabab application
eShabab is a multi-skills development initiative and mobile application initiated by the Ministry of Youth & Sport Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain and developed in collaboration with the Information & eGovernment Authority. It is a yearly summer camp aiming to promote innovative ideas and encourage a sense of creativity amongst Bahraini children and youth to foster a bright future for the nation’s Youth. The app displays workshops and hands-on training to reinforce talent in areas such as leadership, media, information technology, arts, languages, science, and sports.
The application displays a varied list of events, programs and activities provided by (MYS) for the youth in the Kingdom of Bahrain whereby they can easily create a user profile to search and register for the available youth programs that take place during different intervals.
Submission of volunteering requests are also available through the “Sawaed” service available in this mobile app for users between 15- 30 years of age.
The application also enables users to:
- Register for assessment exams and enquire about the status.
- Add Family members (Children or Siblings) with the ability to register them for programs.
- Request users to be notified when seats are available for fully booked programs.
- View the list of events provided by Ministry of Youth & Sport Affairs (MYS) with the ability to register, add it to the calendar, and share the event details through social media.
- MYS Locator: A map-based service that provides the list of youth centers and sport clubs across the Kingdom of Bahrain and the details for each center or club.
- Receive notifications sent by the ministry.
